does it bother you to hear the violence that happens everyday. topics like rape, gay/lesbian relationships, sexual harassment, drug abuse, bullying, prostitution, suicide and other stuff, what do you think about our society?

I don't much like our society, but there's nothing that I can do about it really. I don't like that all of these horrible things are happening, but in the grand scheme of things, all we can do is hope that someday it will change.

I have given up on the majority of the human race, and their occupation with violence has really bothered me ever since the birth of Louis and Alasdair,so often I have held either boy, and found myself apologising for the stupidity greed and ignorance of adults...

Prostitutes at least the glaswegian ones are nearly all drug addicts and you would be stupid to even consider propositioning fot they carry every STd under the sun...there are plenty of outreach centres ect,who try day in day out to help these women, but how do you help an addict who doesn't want to know...Gay/lb/bi ect well as a bisexual I'm glad that society has become accepting especially with the gay marriage ect,as long as no one is being used, abused, or deliberately given a disease live and let live with them being bi ect is hard enough...Drug abuse hmm hopelessness, a weak personality, escapisim, apathy or peer pressure plus if there was no demand there would be no supply....sadly the junkies have long forgotten the real reason people used to get high...

Well, everything concerning our society except the whole Gay marriage thing bothers me. I hate all this violence and do not believe in prostitution and harmful drugs!!! However, I do believe that a person who loves should have a chance to be with their significant other whether they are a homosexual or not!!!
*sexy*

I think people have been violent since there first were people. Homosexual relationships don't bother me because some people are just that way. I don't see any point in worrying about a lot of things that I can't personally control or fix. I can't change the world, but I can do my best not to contribute to all the violence and hate out there. I also do not want to use my TV news or newspapers as a way of measuring how bad society is. Remember that the news concentrates on violent stories becasue they attract atttention, are spectacular, and unexpected. You can get a distorted view of how the world really is if you rely on the news for your view of the world. I'm not saying everything is lollipopsand rainbows, but if things were as violent as the news portrays it, I'd probably get shot just by stepping out my front door.

In some country's that is entirely possible. In Scotland a violent crime is committed every single day...In fact a banker Alistair Wilson, was gunned down on his doorstep, for no apparent reason, and his killer is still at large...

Oh yes that really bothers me. I nearly cry when I Hear it and when children are involved, or just innocent people.

I find it interesting that in the original post homosexual relationships fall into the "violence" catogry. I cannot agree with that assumtion, although there are certainly abusive gay and lesbian relationships.

In the town i live in, a girl was strangled by a 12 year old boy. he wen't to trial and he will only have to have one year of "treatment" because he was a minor. that's just sad. our justice system stinks.
